Just as Her Majesty the Queen has her own Royal Standards (above left and right) and Crest, I felt it was my right to have one of my own, Official or Not! So below is my own creation that represents me and where I come from!
Personal Standard of Vincent Michael Esposito
The representation behind this standard is as follows. In the upper-left quadrant is the Flag of St. George, which is the National Flag of England, representing my distant English heritage. In the bottom-right quadrant is the Saltire or St. Andrew's Cross, the National flag of Scotland, representing the Scottish ancestry on my Maternal side (Clan McGregor). In the bottom-left is the National flag of Italy, representing my Italian ancestry on my Paternal side (Esposito). Finally, in the upper-right, is the State flag of Maryland! It of course represents my being born and raised in Cumberland, MD! Some may say that this is pointless, but it is special to me!
Since, I couldn't just stop with the flag, I decided to make my own crest. This crest encircles my Standard with the traditional badge of a Knight of the Most Noble Order of the Garter, the highest Order of Chivalry in Britain, and the oldest in the world! The Latin motto of the Order inscribed on the badge translates as, "Shame on him who thinks Evil of it!" In reality I know it would never happen, but one can dream can't he?
...and one final step forward...I added the crown of St. Edward's monogram to my crest!
